E-AUCTION

1. What is Punjab E-Auction?

The E-Auction platform is designed to facilitate online bidding for attractive or unique vehicle registration numbers. Unlike regular registration plates, vanity plates allow users to bid for specific combinations or memorable numbers. This system was introduced to modernize the registration process, promote a fair bidding environment, and offer citizens a convenient way to obtain unique vehicle numbers without visiting government offices.

2. How to E-Auction:

  • Registration: Interested users must first register on the E-Auction portal by entering basic personal details, such as their CNIC (national ID number), email address, and phone number. During registration, users receive a One-Time Password (OTP) on their provided mobile or email, which must be entered to complete the process.
  • Bidding Process: Once registered, users can log in and navigate to the E-Auction section, where they select the desired registration number and provide their vehicle’s chassis number. It's crucial to enter the complete and accurate chassis number, as it cannot be changed later.
  • Payment of Fee: After selecting a number, users receive a Payment Slip Identification (PSID) via SMS, detailing the reserve price and participation fee, usually around PKR 100. This fee can be paid through mobile banking, ATM, or any bank. Once the fee is confirmed, the application is authorized, allowing users to participate in the live auction once it opens.
  • Auction Timing: The E-Auction schedule is published monthly, showing when specific numbers will be available for bidding. Participants can monitor the portal for updates on auction times, winners, and any re-auction schedules if numbers aren’t claimed in the initial bidding.
