About MTMIS Punjab — Who We Are and Why This Site Exists
Welcome. This website is an independent guide to vehicle verification, token tax, and Excise services in Punjab, Pakistan. We are not a government website, and we are not affiliated with the Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department. What we are is something the official portal was never designed to be: a plain-language companion that explains how everything works.

Our Story: Why We Built This Website
This site started the way most useful things do — with a frustrating experience. A few years ago, one of us went through a used-bike purchase that nearly went wrong. The seller seemed genuine, the price was fair, and the paperwork looked complete. However, a last-minute check on the Excise portal showed unpaid token tax and an ownership record that didn’t match the seller’s CNIC.
The deal died that evening, and a question was born: why does nobody explain this system properly? The portal itself gives you data, but no context. What does "Life Time" token mean? Why does the record still show a previous owner? Which fees change every budget season, and which ones never do?
We built MTMIS Punjab Guide to answer those questions in one place. Since 2023, this site has grown from a handful of pages into a full library covering vehicle verification, tax rates, smart cards, e-challans, and ownership transfers — all written in language a first-time buyer can follow.
What This Website Is — And What It Is Not

This website is:
- An independent information resource about MTMIS Punjab and Excise services, written and maintained by people who use these systems themselves.
- Completely free. Every guide, table, and tool on this site costs nothing, and it always will. The site is supported by advertising instead.
- A companion to the official portal. Whenever you run an actual verification, we send you to mtmis.excise.punjab.gov.pk — the only place vehicle records officially live.
This website is not:
- A government website. We hold no official status, and we say so on every page where it matters.
- A database. We do not store, access, or process any vehicle records or personal ownership data. Searches happen on the official portal, not here.
- An agent service. We cannot transfer vehicles, correct records, or process applications. Only the Excise and Taxation Department can do that.
How We Keep Our Information Accurate
Accuracy is our entire value. A guide about taxes and legal procedures is worthless — and potentially harmful — if it drifts out of date. Therefore, we follow a simple editorial process for every page:
- Official sources first. Every fee, rate, and procedure is checked against the Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department’s published notifications before we publish it.
- Dated updates. Each guide carries a visible "Last updated" stamp, so you always know how fresh the information is.
- Budget-season reviews. Vehicle taxes in Punjab change with the provincial budget. Consequently, we re-verify every rate table at the start of each fiscal year in July, and whenever a mid-year notification appears.
- Real walkthroughs. Our step-by-step guides come from actually performing each process — running verifications, tracking applications, and paying taxes through e-Pay — not from rewriting someone else’s article.

No. This is an independent information guide with no affiliation to any government department. Official vehicle records live only on the Excise Department’s portal at mtmis.excise.punjab.gov.pk, and we link to it whenever an actual verification is needed.
Do you charge for anything?
No. Every guide, table, and checklist on this site is free, with no registration required. Advertising supports the site, which means you never pay for information that should be freely available to every vehicle owner in Punjab.
Where does your information come from?
From official Excise and Taxation Department notifications, the department’s published fee schedules, and our own firsthand use of the portal and e-Pay system. Every rate table is re-verified at the start of each fiscal year and dated visibly.
Can you fix an error in my vehicle record?
Unfortunately, no. Only the Excise and Taxation Department can change official records. Our troubleshooting guides explain exactly which office to visit and which documents to carry, which saves most people at least one wasted trip.
